After fleeing the Salem Witch Trials, you band together with a few trusted citizens to form a new town that is free of witches: New Salem. Together you will build a town by drafting buildings, collecting sets, gathering Hope, and triggering events. But who knows, maybe one of your fellow founders is actually a Witch themselves! If that’s the case, you better put them on Trial before they add too much Despair to the town.
WHAT'S NEW IN THIS VERSION?
Here is some of what you'll find different in this version:
You use Hope to vote on the Buildings that will be built, giving you interesting decisions without the complexity of a draft.
Use the public votes to give you clues about who is a Witch versus who is just a Puritan playing selfishly.
The players create a shared town of Buildings rather than individual districts, which greatly reduces the table footprint.
The component simplification allows us to put it in a smaller box with a lower price. (although we'll still have a fancy Kickstarter version)
A stremlined set of rules reduce complexity in Constable seletion, Trials, and end game scoring without losing the meaty social deduction.
There are 3 types of Events available for the Constable to play so they always have ways to gain information, manipulate the game, or accuse players.
